Bringing in the family: Young people and drug use

Youth workers! Build your skills and confidence to effectively engage the family of young people you work with to create strengths and opportunities for them. 

Young people engaging in drug use and other problematic behaviours may be experiencing conflict with their families, however the family is often the most valuable resource.

This experiential and skills-focused workshop will give youth practitioners the opportunity to learn and practice new skills that can be applied in work with young people and their families.

  • Responding to complex presentations including; family violence, parental substance use, and intergenerational trauma. 

Your trainer: Horace Wansbrough - MClinFamTh, BA (Psych)

Horace is a Clinical Family Therapist with over 25 years experience working with adolescents and young adults. He has been providing training on Youth Alcohol and other Drugs, Family Work, Resilience, & Supervision for over a decade
